A Quiet Day
What did we do yesterday? I'm having a hard time remembering. No, no...no narcotics involved (silly). It's just that it was such a mellow and quiet day, I really don't know where it all went. I did leave the house (briefly) to get some things done (picked up teaching certification papers from university, shuttled them over to the school district office to get sent off, and brought the car to the shop to get a belt tightened down so it stops squealing like a stuck pig every time we start it up). I also went outside to retrieve our clean and dry diapers from the clothesline (fresh like the summer's breeze!). Ellen took Zoey (the dog) to the vet because she has some wicked allergic reactions to hot Georgia weather. Poor little Zoey has lots of hot spots all over her body, and is so itchy, so miserable, so sad. What else did we do? I guess there's a baby here. There was so little crying, though, that it hardly seems worth mentioning. We had an extremely happy baby day. Very refreshing, and much needed. Safia'll go to the doctor later today, so we'll update her stats tomorrow and let you know her new weight, length, batting average, and free-throw percentage. Oh yeah, and by the way, in case you were wondering (and I knew you were) it's still hot down here. Mid-to-upper 90s (in the 100s on Sunday) for the foreseeable future. No relief in sight. I think I will dub this summer the "Summer of the Popsicle."
